Signet Shipbuilding receives American Equity Underwriters safety award

Signet Shipbuilding & Repair won the 2011 Safety & Health Best Shipyard Award from the American Equity Underwriters.

 The American Equity Underwriters presented Signet Shipbuilding & Repair with their 2011 Safety & Health Best Shipyard Award late last year, the company said in a news release.
The award recognizes the shipyard that is superior among all other shipyards in terms of claim frequency and severity performance among all AEU members.
Signet received recognition Nov. 1, 2012, within the small shipyard category and credits the achievement to making safety a priority at every organizational level.
The AEU Safety Award is confirmation that Signet continues to be a safety leader in the maritime industry and is dedicated to protecting all employees from injury or death, the company said in a news release.
