Moss Point-St. Martin game highlights Chevron Classic schedule
The Chevron Classic takes place today at Pascagoula High School with six games on the schedule.
The Pascagoula boys take on Pass Christian at 7:30 p.m. today in the final contest, but likely the most compelling match-up of the day will be the prior game of Moss Point and St. Martin at 6 p.m.
St. Martin is 14-5 headed into today's contest while Moss Point was 7-11 headed into Friday night's home contest against St. Stanislaus.
It will be a battle of two of the best shooting guards on the Coast in Moss Point senior Devin Booker and St. Martin senior Ed Simpson. Booker has signed with Kentucky while Simpson has inked with Middle Tennessee.
Booker is averaging 31.8 points a game this season while Simpson is putting up 16.2 points a game.
Jamond Franklin gives St. Martin a solid second scorer with an average of 14.5 points.
Pascagoula was 8-6 headed into Friday night's contest at East Central while Pass Christian is 8-9 and riding a two-game winning streak into tonight's game.
The Panthers have played their best basketball of late, including an impressive 56-33 victory at Biloxi on Jan. 10.
The Pascagoula girls get action started at noon today against Pass Christian.
All games will feature boys teams the rest of the way with Puckett-East Central following at 3 p.m.
Vancleave faces Theodore, Ala., at 3 p.m. and Gautier-Bay High follows at 4:30 p.m.
Gautier was 9-6 headed into Friday night's game at Hancock.
St. Martin - Biloxi Hoops
Martin's Ed Simpson will take the court at 6 p.m. today against Moss Point in the Chevron Classic at Pascagoula High School.
