Pascagoula dealership to hold grand opening event

PASCAGOULA -- Butch Oustalet's General Motors dealership in Pascagoula has undergone a $1.5 million expansion and will offer deals, giveaways and refreshments at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday.
General Motors Corp.set updated design standards for its brands for every dealer in the nation. The Pascagoula dealership at 4012 14th St. represents two GM badges -- Chevrolet and Cadillac.
Dealer principal Larry Clark said the company is the first dealership in South Mississippi to meet those new requirements, which update the exterior appearance and provide an open, lighted showroom and an improved reception area.
"It's intended to enhance the experience of the customer," Clark said. "It hopefully will make a trip to the dealership much more pleasant."
The customer area includes refreshments, a flat-screen TV, children's play area and a temperature-controlled service write-up area.
Clark said the Pascagoula dealership paid for the $1.5 million investment on its own, and daily traffic has increased since it officially moving into the expansion in November.
During Friday's grand opening event, a 50-inch television will be given away and deals will be offered on new and used cars and trucks, Clark said.
